Africa: repeated crises worsen already dramatic levels of food insecurity
The challenge of eradicating hunger by 2030 has once again increased, for the fourth year running. The weakened economic resilience of poorer countries means recovery takes longer and their ability to absorb future crises is further reduced. Four countries out of the seven currently facing a situation of food catastrophe are African, according to the 2023 Global Report on Food Crisis.
