The Netherlands: the death of the cow?

European champions in intensive farming, the world's second largest exporter of agricultural produce, are the Netherlands about to change their economic model? To limit nitrogen, nitrate and methane emissions, the Dutch government wants to reduce cattle numbers by 30%: a tragedy for farmers having to slaughter their herds.
