As the ocean swallows us
In Canada, those living in Tuktoyaktuk, in the North-West Territories, will no longer have a village in fifty years. Science is categorical: the sea and erosion are swallowing their land; rising temperatures are thawing the permafrost. The villagers will have to move: they will be the country's first climate refugees.
A report by Maxime Corneau for "Découverte", the Radio-Canada magazine programme.
Guests: Maxime Corneau, journalist with Radio-Canada; Michel Jaboyedoff, professor in natural risks and dangers at Lausanne University.
Presented by: Dominique Laresche.
