Algeria, France, Italy, cinema and remembrance. Responsible for the French pavilion at the 59th Venice biennale, Zineb Sedira invites us behind the scenes of her own life, in her installation "Les Rêves n'ont pas de Titre" (Dreams have no titles), with films that have travelled down through time. Bringing back forgotten works, or those rarely seen today, from the 1960s-1970s, campaigns for post-colonial emancipation using photographs, collages, acoustic ambiances, and even a dance floor. Open until 27 November 2022.

A musical bridge between Martinique and Algeria. Maher Beauroy took his inspiration from Frantz Fanon (born West Indian in 1925, died Algerian in 1961), an anti-colonialist, essayist, psychiatrist and member of the resistance, when composing his album "Insula". In his video clip, "Ki Moun Ou Yé", the spoken text is an extract from "L'An V de la Révolution Algérienne" (Year five of the Algerian Revolution), by Frantz Fanon. Published in 1959, the book describes from the inside the way Algerian society evolved during its fight for freedom.

The FIFOG (International Oriental Film Festival of Geneva) runs until 19 June 2022. The programme for this 17th edition is dedicated to the freedom of women and showcases the most creative films from North Africa and the Middle East. Joumana Haddad and Tahar Houchi join us to discuss the festival and its films. Amongst the gems selected for this 2022 vintage: "Fatale Orientale" (Holy Fatma), "Roadblock" (Dahlia Nemlich), "Tuk Tuk" (Mohamed Kheidr), "L'un de nous deux a quitté la photo" (the Malas brothers)...
