Eleven years after the revolution in Egypt that overthrew Hosni Mubarak, the novel "Au Printemps on Coupe les Ailes des Oiseaux" (In Spring We Clip the Birds' Wings), published by L'Aube, tells of a generation's broken dreams. Its author, journalist Marion Guénard, who was based in Cairo at the time, covered the period for French-language media. Today she lives in Dakar.

Immediately after the Six-Day War, on the night of 10 to 11 June 1967, those living in the North African quarter of Jerusalem were evacuated by the Israeli army. The district was levelled to create a vast esplanade that today stretches all the way to the foot of the Wailing Wall. The historian Vincent Lemire looks back at an event that has long been ignored in "Au Pied du Mur. Vie et Mort du Quartier Maghrébin de Jérusalem" (Back to the Wall. Life and Death of the Mughrabi Quarter of Jerusalem), published by Éditions du Seuil. He has also written a text in the recent work "To the Last Path", published by Le Bec en l'Air. The timelessness of Jerusalem in the instantaneity of David Sauveur's Polaroid photos.

"Amer M. and Colette B.": the portraits of two characters whose private lives are traversed by the history that continues to unite Algeria and France. Joséphine Serre creates a dialogue between them in the form of a diptych, being staged at the Théâtre National de la Colline until 20 February 2022. It all began with the discovery of a wallet and, inside, clues to its owner's past. Amer M., Algerian born in Kabylia, arrived in France in 1954, former worker in poor health. It also contains a visiting card signed by a certain Colette B., pianist at Radio France. Together they offer the playwright the inspiration to sketch a series of hypotheses, fragments of life with its denials and silences.
