Adila Bendimerad, Damien Ounouri, Fouad Boussouf, Anahita Ghabaian Etehadieh

Algeria in the 16th century. The pirate Aruj Barbarossa takes Spanish-occupied Algiers, along with the control of the kingdom and, according to certain sources, has King Salim Toumi assassinated. But, against all expectations, one woman stands up to him: Zaphira. "La Dernière Reine" (The Last Queen), starring Dali Benssalah, is the first feature film by Adila Bendimerad and Damien Ounouri.

After a sensational reception at the Biennale de la Danse in Lyon, with his tribute to Umm Kulthum, Fouad Boussouf has chosen to involve the plastic artist Ugo Rondinone in his new work "VÏA". This global creation reflects his many and varied influences, tackling themes very much in the news today.

Since founding "Silk Road", the first Iranian gallery dedicated to contemporary photography, in Tehran in 2011, Anahita Ghabaian Etehadieh has continued to observe Iran through a feminine lens. In "Espace Vital: Femmes Photographes Iraniennes" (Vital Space: female Iranian photographers), published by Textuel, she has brought together three generations of photographers: Gohar Dahsti, Malekeh Nayiny, Maryam Firuzi, Nazli Abbaspour, Newsha Tavakolian, Shadi Ghadirian, Solmaz Daryani, Tahmineh Monzavi, Yalda Moiaery...

The exhibition "Ramsès et l'Or des Pharaons" (Ramses and the Gold of the Pharaohs) is in Paris until 6 September 2023 with a remarkable treasure: the wooden sarcophagus of the king of kings. Report by Pascale Achard and Guillaume Gouet.
