But soon Alex gets a strange feeling about the young man's story of his kidnapping and his years of absence....

Alex vindt het lijk van een van hen met ingeslagen schedel. De tweede, die net een lange gevangenisstraf uitgezeten heeft, is onvindbaar...

In de bergen rond Lusagne kijkt Alex mee naar de vlucht van een man in een wingsuit ... en ziet hoe deze van duizelingwekkende hoogte naar beneden valt.
Hij is al snel duidelijk dat hier sabotage in het spel is. In de woning van het slachtoffer vindt Alex zeer gewelddadige anonieme dreigbrieven.
