December 1851. In France a coup d'état reinstates an imperial regime. Over the following two decades, Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte carried out an ambitious plan to renovate the capital. Baron Haussmann, appointed Prefect of the Seine, opened large avenues and redesigned Paris's buildings. We discover the architectural treasures still visible today.
