thalassa royan - vignette

( Season 2020 )
We meet the men and women committed to preserving the close link that ties them to the sea. Fishermen, oyster farmers, scientists, businessmen and women... Together they share with us the many different facets of the French coasts.

From Brest to Paimpol

A Breton journey, beginning in Brest, in the Finistère, then moving on to Tréguier in the Côtes-d'Armor. On the programme, two powerful tales of friendship and mutual help.

Presented by: Sophie Quindou.
Lighthouses, guardians of our coasts

Behind each of the towering lighthouses that line the French coastline, lies a unique story. Today automated, these legendary buildings, some of which are listed historic monuments, continue to fascinate as much as they always did. Ardent protectors of maritime heritage do all they can to protect them.

Presented by: Sophie Quindou.
From Perros-Guirec to Ushant

Come and sail the Brittany coast, from the Côtes-d'Armor to the Iroise Sea. A voyage of discovery in search of its unique unspoilt wildernesses. We begin by dropping anchor to discover the unexpected consequences the lockdown has had on the coastline.

Presented by: Sophie Quindou.
The Seine estuary

We discover 160 kilometres of the Seine estuary, from the port of Le Havre to that of Rouen. The river may be a major commercial waterway used by dozens of cargo ships every day, in places it is also a protected nature reserve, a haven of peace for migrating birds.
