The Méjean Causse, the taming of nature
This wild unspoilt corner of the Lozère, the Méjean Causse, is a limestone plateau covering some 33,000 hectares, its southern limits marked by the Jonte Gorges, and the north by those of the Tarn. Averaging some 1,000 metres above sea-level, it is the highest of the "causse" plateaux.
