Cordouan, the last inhabited lighthouse

Recently added to the Unesco world heritage list, the Cordouan lighthouse welcomes thousands of visitors each year. For several centuries, it has been an invaluable aid for the complex navigation required to enter the Gironde estuary. A truly exceptional building and an important witness of the history of France.
