Egypt, a very French passion

To coincide with the bicentenary of Champollion's deciphering of Egyptian hieroglyphs and the centenary of the discovery of Tutankhamen's tomb, we travel back through time to explore Ancient Egypt. This very French fascination, known as Egyptomania, was sparked by the return of Napoleon following his Egyptian campaign in 1801.
