The innumerable standing stones of Carnac, in the Morbihan, continue to raise questions for archaeologists. Recent research has identified dozens of new alignments, including several rows of underwater stelae. Why did Neolithic man put up these enormous funerary monuments here, to the glory of dignitaries as the pharaohs did? Investigation.
