Montreal, 1904. Giuseppe and Ninetta run a small boarding house for fellow Sicilians. One day, trying to defend one of his residents, Giuseppe accidentally kills Théo, son-in-law of his best friend, a French-Canadian. A tragedy that further exacerbates existing tensions between the different communities...
