Rugby - the Top 14

The French rugby union championship, or Top 14 as it's known (since 2005), is an annual competition created in 1892. The 14 best rugby teams in France, (hence Top 14!) are invited to compete for the first place and to win the shield of Brennus.

The Top 14 is an international tournament with more than 30 international players including Dan Carter, Spedding Scott and many more. For the 2017 edition, the Top 14 Final will take place in Paris in the legendary Stade de France.

The Coupe de France

The French Football Cup is a competition divided into thirteen rounds plus one final. At the end of the competition, the winning team is awarded a spot for the next group stage of the European League. Since 1998, the Final has been held at the Stade de France in Paris and this year it is the turn of the Angers club, which sixty years after having played its only Coupe de France final, lost in 1957 against Toulouse (6- 3), to face the unbeatable Paris Saint-Germain, 10 times champion of France between 1982 and 2016.

Roland Garros Tennis 

Founded in 1925, Roland Garros is a clay tennis tournament organized by the French Tennis Federation, held annually since 1928 in Paris, in the Roland Garros Stadium, named after the pioneer of aviation Roland Garros who died in an aerial combat during the First World War in 1918. It takes place on the last week of May and the first week of June, followed by Wimbledon in the last week of June and the first week of July, and finally the US Open in August. In the Anglophone world of tennis, and since 1968, the tournament is also known as the French Open.
