Paris Fashion Week, one of the worlds' biggest global media events and fashion spectacular, is back from 26th September - 3rd  October 2017

French Haute Couture

This event first took place in 1973 at the Palais de Versailles and was organized by the French Federation of Haute Couture and Fashion.
Since the beginning of the 20th century, La Semaine de la Mode in Paris (or Paris Fashion Week) has been held six times a year, with events devoted to haute couture, ready-to-wear and men's fashion for each collection: spring-summer collection, then autumn-winter).

In terms of fame and notoriety, Paris Fashion Week (Haute Couture) is the most important of the four biggest international fashion weeks (the Big Four) which are London Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week.

The season begins in New York, followed by London, Milan, and ends in Paris.

From 26th September to 3rd October 2017 it's the turn of Paris Fashion Week - Ready to wear (women). The international fashion giants such as Chanel, Miu Miu, Dior, Elie Saab, Vanessa Bruno and Balmain will exhibit their latest creations during parades in incredible and stand out Parisian venues such as the Oratoire du Louvre, the Palais des Beaux-Arts, the Salle Wagram, the Grand Palais, the Institut du Monde Arabe, or in Ambassadors residences..




Special programming for Fashion Week

Chanel´s No.5 perfume is legendary. With it, Coco Chanel reinvented perfume just as she revolutionised fashion, by injecting modernity, audacity and freedom. However, the back story to No.5 is also one of a war between Miss Chanel and her partners, the Wertheimer Bros...



Weekdays at 2:45pm from 26th Sept - 6th Oct 

During the ready-to-wear and haute couture fashion shows in Paris, Viviane Blassel invites the designers to watch their own show and talk about their creations.  The interviews take place in a cosy setting that encourages them to relax and open up, giving us an inside look at the design process...



Thursdays at 5:40pm from 26th Sept 

Jean Paul Gaultier, Alexandre Vauthier, Alexis Mabille, Manish Arora... These star designers invite us into their workshops. From the initial sketches to the final shows, we follow the creation of a fashion collection step-by-step, alongside highly-skilled craftsmen. 



Weds 27th Sept at 8pm 

For a year, Julie Georgia Bernard shadowed three Parisian artisans working for Maisons of Haute Couture. Hidden heroes dedicated to their demanding trade and its unceasing production rate. And yet time is precisely what these incredibly specialised fingers need. 



Tues 26th Sept at 6:30pm 

In this special Fashion episode, "Tendance XXI" highlights the creative know-how and the energy of French style. A style that reinvents itself, leads, and anticipates future trends. 



Tues 26th Sept at 7pm 

She’s got that Parisian-lady-chic style that every woman wishes to copy. Understated yet impossibly chic meet style icon & designer Inès de La Fressange, former muse of Chanel.
