Francophonie in Israel

Celebrated around the world since 1998, as part of the initiative by the OIF (International Organisation of Francophonie), Francophonie Day is a festive celebration focussing on the French language and Francophone culture that is shared in more than 70 countries.

Many events are traditionally organised in Israel all over the country for this occasion. The Francophone Film Festival, dictations, theatrical performances, concerts, street shows and many more events will take place from 10th - 18th March 2017 to celebrate everything Francophonie.

Francophonie film week

As part of the 2017 Francophonie celebrations, Holon and Haifa cinematheques are presenting a Francophone Film Festival where films have been specially selected by festival partner embassies, due to their cinematographic heritage, and these films will be screened in original version and subtitled in Hebrew, thus allowing the Israeli public to discover or rediscover French-language cinema. TV5MONDE is a partner of the event.
