Events Francophonie Film Festival 2018 in Moscow

From 22th to 25th of March 2018 in the cinema "Illuzion" (Moscow) within the "Days of Francophonie" will take place the Film Festival of Francophonie. Seven films from France, Switzerland, Belgium and Romania will be presented to audience, as well as a program of animated films from Canada.


The show will be opened with the premiere screening of the film "Jalouse" (France, 2017) directed by David and Stéphane Foenkinos. The film was nominated for the Cesar film award for Best Actress, brilliantly performed by wonderful French actress Karin Viard. Director Stéphane Foenkinos will personally come to Moscow to present the film and to talk to audience.

There are several premieres in the festival program. Among them are: romantic comedy "Rosalie Blum" - the directorial debut of Julien Rappeneau; Swiss-French drama with an exciting story "Moka", awarded with the Prize of American film critics in Locarno; Belgian drama, based on real events "White Knights", received the Prize for Best Director at the San Sebastian International Film Festival; the comedy "Tour de France", with the participation of an unusual duos - the legendary Gerard Depardieu with French rapper Sadek and the Romanian family comedy "Domestic."

Specially compiled for the celebration of "Days of Francophonie" at the International Festival of Animation in Montreal named "Animaze", the program from Canada includes a selection of short animated films made by French-speaking Canadian authors of all genres and styles.

All the shows are in the original language with Russian subtitles.


Thursday, March 22nd at 7pm

Opening of the festival and the premiere of the film with the participation of director Stéphane Foenkinos. After the show, a discussion with the audience will take place.

Intrigued by this lonely woman, he begins to follow her ... but not very circumspect because Rosalie notices the shadowing. She asks her niece to follow this young man. During the surveillance, she is getting attached to this slightly sad guy who likes to create kites.

"Movement for children" - a team of French rescuers who flew to Africa with a noble mission. In any case, this is the official goal of the arrival of the French on the Black Continent. In reality, everything is somewhat different: there were wealthy Europeans ready to adopt children from Africa and have already paid a lot of money for them.

Specially chosen by "Animaze" to display at the International Animation Festival in Montreal during the "Days of Francophonie", the program includes a selection of short animated films by French-speaking Canadian authors of all genres and all styles. From experimental cinema to puppet animation and narrative art, we explore the diversity of the world of animation through the prism of creativity of beginners and experienced Canadian-speaking French artists.

The protagonist is a 20-year-old young rapper who is forced to leave Paris for a while. The producer of the young man sends the guy on a tour of France, in the footsteps of the artist Claude Joseph Vernet, accompanied by his father-mason. A journey in which the clash of generations and cultures is inevitable will soon turn into a real and strong friendship.
