TV5MONDE is a long-standing partner of the event that recognises and presents awards to the best of Belgian and French-language cinema, much in the style of the Oscars or Césars. This year the ceremony will be hosted by Belgian actress and TV anchor Virginie Effira and presented by Belgian actress Anne-Pascale Clairembourg.
No less than 21 awards were given out at this fabulous evening recognising talent and bringing together many Belgian and French-speaking celebs. The eve was a resounding triumph for the film Les Premiers Les Derniers by Belgian director Bouli Lanners, who received 5 Magrittes among which was the highly coveted prize for Best Film. And for the first time two actresses tied for the title of Best Actress with Virgine Effira for her role in Victoria (by Justine Triet) and Astrid Whettnall for Sur la Route d'Istanbul (by Rachid Bouchareb) both shared the Magritte award for Best Actress.
